Looking for matcha gift ideas? The right gift depends on who you're buying for, not on which product sounds best. Do they already drink matcha, are they just starting, or do they live on the move? Answer that in 30 seconds and the choice is easy. Below are our picks of gifts for matcha lovers, from a simple pouch to a full matcha kit.

Every Moicha matcha set pairs Great Taste Award-winning ceremonial matcha from Uji, Japan with the tools to make it properly. Start with the table below, or browse all our matcha gift sets.

Find the right gift in 30 seconds

They are...	Give them...	Price
Already making matcha at home	Premium Ceremonial Matcha, 100g pouch	£35
Just getting started	Matcha Whisk Set or Matcha Sieve Set	£40 / £35
Always on the move	Matcha Travel Set	£65
Ready for the full ritual	Ceremonial Matcha Set	£85
Hard to buy for (stocking filler)	Bamboo whisk or a 30g pouch	From £15

If they already love matcha

Give them the thing they'll run out of: a 100g pouch of our Premium Ceremonial Matcha (£35).

Someone who whisks matcha at home already owns the bowl and the whisk. A set would duplicate what they have, while good ceremonial matcha from Uji is the part they will use every week. Tuck in a handwritten note and it feels like a considered gift, not a refill.

If you'd like to spend less, a 30g pouch starts at £15.

If they're just starting out

For a first matcha gift, a beginner matcha kit works best. Choose the Matcha Whisk Set (£40) or the Matcha Sieve Set (£35).

Whisk Set: a bamboo chasen, a holder and 30g of ceremonial matcha. The whisk is the one tool every beginner needs, so this is our default pick for someone new.
Sieve Set: a sieve, a spoon and 30g of ceremonial matcha, for smooth, lump-free matcha every time. A good fit for someone who already has a whisk.

Either one works as a matcha starter kit, and neither needs a deep knowledge of matcha to enjoy, so both suit someone curious but not yet committed.

If they're always on the move

The Matcha Travel Set (£65) is made for the person who takes their matcha to work, the gym or the airport.

Inside a quilted velvet pouch you get a stainless steel tumbler, a bamboo whisk and ceremonial matcha. It holds everything needed to make a proper cup away from the kitchen, and the velvet pouch makes it a gift-worthy matcha kit.

It's our newest set, so it's a good pick if they already own the basics.

If you want to give the full ritual

Choose the Ceremonial Matcha Set (£85) for one gift that has everything.

As a complete matcha tea set, it includes a strainer, a spoon, a whisk, a handmade ceramic bowl and ceremonial matcha from Uji, Japan, so nothing else needs buying. It's also the set Selfridges stocks.

It's also the best choice if you want the present to look impressive on a kitchen shelf.

Small matcha gifts and stocking fillers

For a smaller gift, add one of these on its own or alongside a set:

Handmade bamboo whisk: £15
30g pouch of Premium Ceremonial Matcha: from £15
30g pouch of Hojicha or one of our flavoured matchas: £16

What is a good matcha gift for her?

If you're unsure of her taste, the Travel Set (£65) and the Ceremonial Set (£85) both make a proper present. For someone just starting out, the Whisk Set (£40) is the easy choice.
